How to Create a WhatsApp Channel: A Step-by-Step Guide

To create your own WhatsApp Channel, follow these steps:

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the Updates tab.
  2. Tap the + button in the top right corner and select New Channel.
  3. Tap Get Started and continue through the on-screen prompts.
  4. Add a channel name and tap Continue.
  5. Choose to Customize your channel now or Later.
  6. If you choose to customize your channel now, you can add a description, icon, and link. You can also choose who can see your channel and whether or not you want it to be discoverable in the directory.
  7. Tap Create channel when you're finished.
Once you've created your channel, you can start sharing updates with your followers. To do this, tap the + button in the bottom right corner of the channel and select the type of update you want to share. You can share text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls.

To share a link to your channel, open the channel info page and tap Copy link. You can then share the link with your contacts or post it online.

Your channel name should be unique and memorable, and your description should explain the purpose of your channel and what kind of updates you will be sharing.

Public channels are visible to anyone on WhatsApp, private channels are only visible to people you invite, and discoverable channels are visible in the directory and can be found by people searching for relevant keywords.
  4. Share high-quality updates regularly. The best way to keep your followers engaged is to share high-quality updates on a regular basis. Your updates should be informative, interesting, and relevant to your target audience.
  5. Respond to feedback from your followers. Show your followers that you value their feedback by responding to their comments and questions. This will help you build a relationship with your audience and create a more engaging community.
