CDAC

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC)

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing is an Autonomous Scientific Society of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The National Centre for Software Technology, ER&DCI and CEDTI were merged into C-DAC in 2003.
If you compare, you will find most of the subjects from Computer Engineering and CDAC are same. The difference is in the way of learning those same subjects. My Bachelor's degree is in IT and still I did CDAC because I had many uncleared concepts and doing CDAC was my best decision.

Schedule conducted in the CDAC?

  • Most of the CDAC faculties are really good at teaching and wooing you with programming concepts.
  • You need to be good in both .Net, Java, PHP, etc as placement companies can ask for any skill set.
  • Along with programming, you need to work on Aptitude also as it is first filter criteria.
  • Try to understand things, theoretical understanding does not have much value.
  • Students learn here through discussion and debates over concepts.
  • Group studies are really happening.
  • You would love to stay in lab and writing programs and fighting over logic with your lab partner.
  • You come to know how other's thinking process works, and how they apply there learning.
  • On spot exams and tests.
  • How to be in formal dress for more than 8 hrs.
  • Real competence
  • Hard work, smart work.
  • You might also make some new friends for life.

What is the CDAC course?

CDAC tries to groom students, fresher and helps them to turn into professionals who are industry-ready. Who can work from start without any initial training? Learning on the job.
It's a PG diploma course of six months in different sectors related to IT. One of its prime course is DAC(Diploma in advance computing). In the tenure of six months, they make you industry ready material in which they make you learn programming languages like Java, .NET, c#, web development, MySQL, etc. The best thing about them is, they are more focused on practicals rather than theory.
They have their practicals lab having good system configuration and dedicated only for programming. The labs are an open the whole day so that you can do more practice. And moreover, the lecturers are highly experienced professional they tell you every bit of programming right from the beginning.
After 5 months of the classes, they conduct one exam which you have to pass to become eligible for the placements.
Believe me, they provide really good placements. They have a tie-up with the top-notch MNCs and they come every year for the placements. They have a placement record of above 90% that too within 30–40 days of placement. Moreover its govt institute.
EDIT: It all depends on which CDAC center you are in and which course you have opted for. All the center is not good for the study however they have centralized placement rule. Pune is the best among them.

No CDAC does not / and cannot guarantee placements. But it does provide placement assistance ( CCPP placement program) which is best in the business. There are more chances of you getting placed more than anywhere else. Almost 100 odd companies visit their placement program. It mostly depends on your aptitude, your CDAC written exam score, BTech/10th/12th aggregate. Even if you are average you should get placed.
