How the placement program works in CDAC

Most Common Question: How the placement program works in CDAC

Once your exams are over in July. (For Feb Batches student) CDAC officials will come to your lab and will guide you to fill up the details into there system. This system will generate your resume too, as per your inputs
Please…Fill it up properly, especially the project detail. once details are entered, it can’t be edited (Only CDAC officials can do further edit) Also, your shortlisting to any campus happens through this system only.
Make sure, you add up each and every technology related to your project into this system. Some companies will shortlist only those students, who have worked on their required language in their project, Also, the email address, you enter into this system. don’t forget it’s a password, or else CDAC will forget you during campus
You will start receiving emails of companies which are about to come included with shortlisted excel sheet...Checking mail till 11:59pm is must, ANYTIME You are shortlisted and ANYTIME you will be called...

Next, you will be provided one PMS login (Online portal, to check you have shortlisted to any company or not, here is the android app link: https://apps.mgov.gov.in/downloadfiledirect.do). Which you have to keep on checking every early morning and night before going to sleep. consider it as a medicine till you get placed.

You will be provided with a new ID and 30 copies of your system generated resumes. Which one by one you have to use it to impress the HR officials.

30th July… Bang! (Goosebump moment) A mail drops in your inbox early morning alerting you that, the campus is about to get started from 1st Aug.

CDAC placement program is divided into 3 types of Campus Phases

OnCampus (1st Campus Phase) 1Aug till 30th Aug: Here the shortlisted students from all institutes of one city, will be called at one location…(for Pune City… all Acts, Sunbeam, IACSD, Infoway, KnowIT students have to be present in Catering college…. Not aware of the common location in Mumbai and Banglore campus)… this phase is for one month only... During this 1month period, companies with higher packages are scheduled. Min package of 3.6LPA till max 7LPA…but the competition is also high.
The worst part of this phase is that there are many companies scheduled in a single day. so it can be the case you have to be present in the campus at early morning 6:30am…nd you if you get selected, you might get your offer letter at around 11:30pm…So be prepared...(During my batch, 3 of them had got selected at around 11:30pm and had to wait till 1am to get the offer letter. All of sudden, whole hostel... woke up to congratulate them on call, SMS and Whats app. If they read this, they will put laughing smiley on this post.)

If you are lucky enough you will be also shortlisted for multiple companies on the same day. I have seen a guy, who was shortlisted for 4 companies on the same day and he was like "kidhar jau, kya karu, kisko milu, kisee baat karu. just running here and there."

After 30 August...10days Mini Break….but you can’t go to your hometown… it’s for unplaced students to prepare aptitude and technical…sometimes in this mini-break, they might schedule some companies and if you are absent… you will be blocked…

CDAC Diwali break

Off-Campus (2nd Campus Phase) 11th Sept till Diwali break... (Little bit less competition as compared to OnCampus)

it’s somewhat same like OnCampus, where students of different institute will be shortlisted for the same company… but depending on the strength of shortlisted students or company official… your venue for Apti and Technical round will be at your own institute or you have to attend that test online from your home…. If you are able to crack that, you will either directly send to company location next day for HR round or will be told to go in another institute location for HR Round (this too depends on a number of students)…

In this phase, don’t expect a company to come with a package of 6 or 7LPA… such companies rarely come in this phase…Less Competition… Less Package…Fair Deal.
In this phase, there is one more term… i.e Willingness for a company which is located at some-other city … For example, you did CDAC from Pune City… and the company is located in Mumbai… in that case, your CDAC official will mail you a willingness form in which they mention that you need to go to Mumbai to give aptitude, tech, and HR round on your own money…Once you fill out that form, then according to the company convenience they will schedule your date for the interview process. If you failed to attend that, then you are blocked…

Some companies want students to sign a bond for certain years. In such cases too the Willingness form is mailed to students… Those who are interested should fill out the form…

CDAC Local Campus (3rd or Final Campus Phase) Starts after Diwali break till (depends on institute):

1. Less competition.
2. Less Pkg companies.
3. Do or Die Phase.

This is conducted by your own institute, no other institute students are involved in this campus…it’s like competing with your own friends…Willingness form is also included in this phase and sometimes, they don’t even bother to ask your view on this. They will just schedule your interview in Mumbai and you have to go for it… If you are absent, you are blocked…Sometimes Skype interviews are also scheduled.
That's all,

Best of Luck
